ellis+louca interiors showroom opens in Clerkenwell

ellis+louca interiors, who have a new showroom in London, is the latest venture from the internationally-renowned florist, Kally Ellis, of McQueens. Working with London-based interior designer Loucas Louca, ellis+louca draws from all manner of sources and inspiration to bring designed pieces to the home, office and garden. They have sourced furniture, fabric, ceramics, toys, stationery, glassware, crockery, books and gifts, with the collection to be expanded and adapted on a regular basis. The products selected highlight British home-grown talent, as well as more established designers, and aim to enhance the home and work environment. ellis+louca can be found at the former McQueens shop in St John’s Street, London EC1, which has been transformed into a contemporary space and houses an in-house interior design service also available to customers.

L'Oréal collaborates with illustrator for upcoming awards

The L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy team is collaborating with illustrator Nuno Da Costa for the upcoming L’Oréal Professionel Colour Trophy Grand Final 2010 ceremony. This is the longest running and most prestigious annual hairdressing competition in the UK dedicated to hair inspired by fashion. As part of the overall prize, each of the winners of The L’Oréal Professional Colour Trophy, Men’s Image Award, Young Colourist and Mizani Afro Catwalk award will receive an illustration exclusively drawn by Nuno Da Costa capturing their winning model look. The 2010 winners will be announced on 28 June at the Grosvenor House Ballroom, London.

Atelier-Mayer.com opens new private salon and website section

Atelier-Mayer.com is opening up a private salon next Tuesday (1 June) in the area of Connaught Village in London W2. To coincide with the salon Atelier-Mayer.com is launching a new Objects d’Art section online on the same day. All pieces are individually curated and can be viewed at the showroom in London or by appointment in Paris. Atelier-Mayer.com is a site dedicated to 20th century vintage. Inspired by the late Klaudia Mayer, an Austrian haute couture tailor whose atelier was originally founded in 1927, the company has updated Madame Mayer's heritage to the 21st century in the form of a luxury e-boutique and a salon by appointment for vintage fashion lovers, collectors, students, designers and artists.

Swiss watchmaker Eterna launches latest collection

Soleure is the latest collection from Swiss watchmaker Eterna. The Soleure Automatic has a slim polished stainless steel case that houses a self-winding mechanical movement with date calendar that provides 38 hours of reserve power. With its case back secured by four screws and a scratch-resistant and anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the Soleure Automatic is water-resistant to 50 metres (165 feet). Silver-toned or black, the Soleure Automatic dial features both polished and satin-finished stainless steel bracelet as well as the choice of white, brown or black Louisiana alligator straps - all with folding clasp. The Soleure Moonphase Chronograph contains hours, minutes and seconds as well as chronograph functions, it shows the date on the dial rim along with the day and the month at 12 o'clock.

Exclusive Graduate Fashion Week range launches in River Island

An exclusive Graduate Fashion Week range launches in River Island this week. The store, title sponsor for the 6th year in succession, has employed over 90 graduates in the past 5 years from GFW, ensuring their designs hit the high street. This week River Island is launching a range of GFW products in selected stores nationwide, just in time for this year’s event which is taking place 6-10 June (see DIARYdates). In particular the range has several pieces designed by 2009 Award winners Myrto Stamou (UCA Rochester) and Charlotte Simpson (University of Northumbria). Myrto Stamou, winner of the prestigious River Island Gold Award, as well as the Womenswear Award, has recently completed an internship with Hannah Marshall and has been working closely with River Island to create these dresses, inspired by her graduation collection. The designs, pictured here, are strong and sleek and employ supple leather, mesh panelling and slinky jersey.
