Moschino re-interprets Starck designed chair
Moschino has re-interpreted the ‘Mademoiselle’ chair, created by Philippe Starck for Kartell in 2004. The chairs are used to furnish a selection of rooms in Maison Moschino; the new Moschino hotel opened this month 2010 in Milan. ‘Wallpaper’ is a Mademoiselle chair covered in gold brocade fabric, a theme carried through the ‘Wallpaper’ room. ‘The Bow’, pictured here, is a Mademoiselle chair that furnishes the room of the same name; the space like the chair is decorated by coloured bows. ‘Wallpaper’, ‘The Bow’, ‘Alice’s Room’, ‘Sleeping in a Ballgown’ and ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ are names given to the different rooms – totalling in 16 different design concepts – that have a design inspired by fairytales. The chairs can be purchased to order at the Maison Moschino boutique.High-res images and press releases can be downloaded through MediaBox. Please contact ben@diaryd.com if you have any problems.

Clemency-London New Collection

For Spring/Summer 2010 the Clemency-London collection is inspired by icons of the 1960s, including Jane Birkin and Bridget Bardot. Soft luxe dresses in layers are mixed with couture military-influenced jackets. Drapes of chiffon are left with frayed hems and tattered edges. Antique, hand-embellishments give a feminine, vintage feel while biker jackets are decorated with frills and thrown over shorts or piquet polos. Designer, Alison Clemency-Buddenhagen graduated from Central St.Martins and was offered a design position at Giorgio Armani working directly with him for four years before being head-hunted for several design posts including creative consultant for Trussardi in Milan and as design director for Calvin Klein in New York. She worked closely with Christopher Bailey and Rose Marie Bravo as a director at Burberry for five years and as creative director for Joseph in London.
Eccentric Shirts
Eccentricshirts.com was launched recently by Peter Barnett, who already runs a business manufacturing clothing for leading specialist shirt retailers, many of whom are by Royal Appointment. Demand for special orders was such that Peter decided to launch eccentricshirts.com in December 2009. The Spring collection spans a wide spectrum ranging from the more conventional pink, through to the ‘extreme’ eccentric collection. This consists of flamboyant floral prints of roses (Rosie), tropical palms (Tikki) and the ‘Help for Heroes’ Union Jack shirt (Lulu) of which £10.00 is being donated to the charity for every shirt sold. Other designs available include shirts with split-windscreen ‘60s VW camper vans (Becky); with surfboards (Shruti); with retro ‘60s drinks’ bottle tops (Topsy). All of the latest shirts are made from quality two fold cotton poplin fabric and lawns. To add to the eccentricity of the site, all the men’s shirts are given a female name along with a quirky story accompanying the item (women’s shirts will follow soon, with men’s names). Prices start from £50.00.
