Denman supports John Frieda's new fundraising appeal

Denman International, hairbrush specialists, are supporting HAIR-raising, the fundraising appeal spearheaded by John Frieda and supported by high-profile figures from the world of hair. Denman have donated 1,000 D3 bespoke HAIR-raising brushes to assist with raising £1million towards new operating theatres at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. The new operating theatres will be used to help children from all over the UK who require specialist neurosurgery. The HAIR-raising campaign is also fully supported by Denman’s Global Brand Ambassador, hairdresser Mark Woolley, seen here using the bespoke HAIR-raising D3 brush.

Natalie Portman appointed as face of Christian Dior Parfums

Christian Dior Parfums has announced that Oscar nominated and Golden Globe winning actress Natalie Portman will become the new face of Dior. This collaboration marks the first time the actress has collaborated with a perfume and cosmetics brand. Aside from her acting, Natalie has her own production company and is developing film across various genres and has raised global awareness as the Ambassador of Hope for FINCA International since 2004. FINCA is an international village banking microfinance program that provides small loans and savings programs to the world's poorest families. In turn they are able to create jobs, raise household incomes, and improve standards of living, thereby reducing poverty worldwide.

New Regent Street Walking and Shopping App for iPhone

Regent Street is supporting the London Festival of Architecture (18 June – 4 July 2010) with a series of exciting events that are free and open to the public. A walking tour App for the iPhone and printed guide to illustrate an informative route that shoppers and visitors can encounter along the famous destination. The app, which features an almanac of history about the shops, restaurants, cafes and bars, will be available to download for free from the online Apple store and a hard copy walking guide can also be requested from regentstreetonline.com or from within certain Regent Street stores such as Anthropologie, Austin Reed, Habitat and the National Geographic London Store. Regent Street will also celebrate the 2010 London Festival Architecture 18 June to 4 July with a series of conceptual window displays also contributing to exhibitions and in-store events.

Samsung Diva Elite Model Look comes to London

On Saturday 12 June, Samsung Diva Elite Model Look, a project to discover model talent in the UK, is coming to London. As part of a ten date national tour for its second annual search for the UK’s supermodels of the future, the team will be at the Covent Garden Piazza, (see DIARYdates for times). As well as a chance to impress judges on the live catwalk, there will be a variety of fashion and beauty treats including; the Warehouse Style Studio where visitors can star in their own photo shoot with styling expertise from Warehouse; Eylure will be on hand to apply lashes for free to all visitors and TONI & GUY will be styling the hair of contestants prior to their appearance on the catwalk. Elite London’s top UK models will also be present to take part in the judging, give a catwalk demonstration of the latest Warehouse looks on the hour every our from 12pm to 5pm and provide inspiration and advice to all potential applicants. Visitors wearing Warehouse clothes to the event will also get the chance to show us their style and appear in the fashion shows alongside Elite London’s models.
