Jean Paul Gaultier for Roche Bobois home collection is launching
In celebration of its 50th anniversary, Roche Bobois has unveiled a collection of furniture designs created in collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier. Reflecting Gaultier’s trademark originality, playfulness and wit, the new designs (including ‘dressings’ of some of Roche Bobois’ most well-known pieces) is a celebration of high glamour and carries the themes of travel, romance and adventure. Jean Paul Gaultier’s designs for Roche Bobois include: ‘Mah Jong’ dressed by Jean Paul Gaultier - the collection comprises two new upholstery versions of Roche Bobois’ iconic design, the Mah Jong modular sofa, each of which is based on some of Gaultier’s most distinctive fashion collections; ‘Wardrobe’ - a limited edition collection of 250 pieces formed as an articulated trunk with wheels, drawers, rail and three internal mirrored flaps; ‘Bed’ - an extravagant partnership of bed and screen; ‘Suitcases’ - a limited edition collection of a fully functional leather-upholstered and saddle-stitched chest of drawers and storage unit; ‘Ben Hur’ - A humorous reference to the chariot race in the famous film, this Gaultier-designed chair (for Roche Bobois) has a curving laminated aluminium structure cradling a velvet- upholstered seat that comes in red, green, blue and yellow; ‘Devil’ mirror – is a mobile dressing mirror in the quirky style of a porter’s trolley. The ‘Jean Paul Gaultier for Roche Bobois’ collection will be in store in the UK from September.
