Patrick Cox launches new bakery -
Cox Cookies & Cake
Patrick Cox is launching Cox Cookies & Cake, his new bakery located at 13 Brewer Street, London W1, with Master Patissier Eric Lanlard. The inspiration behind Patrick’s move from the world of fashion to food lies with childhood memories of his home in Canada - his mother Maureen would bake with him every Saturday morning. Many of Maureen’s special recipes will feature on the menu at Cox Cookies & Cake, including Nanaimo Bars made from coconut chocolate biscuit with a layer of custard vanilla butter cream coated in melted dark chocolate. Patrick’s business partner and co-creator of the collection of cakes to be sold at Cox Cookies & Cake is Master Patissier Eric Lanlard. The two met via an introduction by mutual acquaintance Elizabeth Hurley. Sharing a similar vision for the new brand, Patrick and Eric have developed a quirky repertoire of cookies, cakes and bars and will have an emphasis on quality rather than novelty. Patrick’s creative vision for Cox Cookies & Cake will be an amalgam of London traditions: the corner cake shop and the Soho hotspot, with a glossy black floor and disco-inspired walls. The new shop will open on Wednesday 1 September 2010.
