Mackintosh are set to open its first ever stand-alone store tomorrow (19 January 2011) situated on Mount Street, London W1, with an invitation only press launch in the evening. The new flagship store will sit alongside other premium brand stores including Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga, Carolina Herrera, Christian Louboutin and Lanvin, and will house Mackintosh’s core heritage styles, its AW10 and SS11 collections, and ongoing collaborative projects. Design highlights include displays of archive Mackintosh coats, and a specially created womenswear room, featuring a central cylindrical display iconising a classic style from Mackintosh’s extensive heritage. The Mackintosh flagship will also exclusively stock the full limited edition Kitsuné collaboration, featuring coats inspired by three of the world’s major capital cities – London, Tokyo and Paris.
