The UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) launched its 2011 Export Awards last week – the 25th anniversary of the event. For the 2011 Awards the categories have been revamped to open up the competition to a wider range of suppliers and retail companies within the fashion and textile industry, as well as to recognise the role of the internet.The categories are: Brand of the Year, Designer Business, Great Brit, New Exporter, Retailer or E-tailer, Rising Star and Textiles. The Gold Award will be presented by headline sponsor HSBC and there will also be a presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award. The Awards are open to all UK-based business and entries will be judged by a panel of industry specialists. Deadline for entries is 5pm on 17 June.
