Violet Lake is the brainchild of Ursula Lake who has been working as a fashion editor for more than eight years. Ursula has worked on a number of different publications throughout her career and currently holds the position of contributing fashion editor for the Sunday Telegraph’s Stella Magazine. Ursula decided to create Violet Lake as she felt there was a lack of well fitting, flattering bikinis available for under £100.00. Violet Lake comprises four different styles of interchangeable bikini tops and bottoms, all of which come in four different sizes and in eight different colours and all the bikini tops have tie fastenings. Colours for the bikini collection have been chosen to harmonise with at least two others within the range and there are 1024 possible colour and style combinations. Violet Lake bikinis are fully lined and made of Jersey Lomellina, imported from Italy. This material is made from 80% Polyamide and 20% Elastane. The eight pieces have a 'Bond Girl' character name:
Ryder - a fitted, halter-neck triangle top with a wide band under the bust that supports the bosom, while the halter neck gives uplift.
Solitaire - a deeper, fuller brief and features a drawstring detail on both hips.
Plenty - a plain bandeau top (with detachable strap) with boning in both sides to give support and help to create a good cleavage.
Kissy - a classic, flattering, simply shaped bikini bottom.
Domino - a strapless top (with detachable strap) with a centrally placed metal U shaped ring, creating a gather that flatters the smaller bust, while the boning in the side panels creates support for the more ample bosom.
Blush - brief featuring the same U shaped ring detail on the hips as the Domino; combines well with all four tops.
Galore - a classic, sliding triangle, gathered string bikini top.
Tiffany - a bikini bottom with wide, long ties to allow a solid, full bow on each hip.
The bikini colours available are black, white, dark navy, geranium red, violet, emerald green, ultramarine blue and tangerine. Violet Lake bikinis will be available from May 2010 with the tops retailing from £45.00 and the bottoms are £40.00. Also available is the Violet Lake bikini dry bag - a white cotton zipped bag embroidered with the Violet Lake logo. Priced at £15.00 or free when four bikini items are purchased, it has a waterproof lining and is ideal for housing a wet bikini.
