Lee Broom wins prestigious commission

Lee Broom, one of the UK’s fastest rising interior and product designers, has won the Studio East Product Design Commission for Westfield Stratford City. Broom will now work with Westfield to create a pendant light installation that will play an integral part in the Westfield Stratford City shopping experience, which opens in 2011. Studio East was launched as a cultural initiative to identify emerging talent, providing bursaries for a series of commissions. Broom was shortlisted by a cultural panel of high profile names including Tracey Emin, Tom Dixon and Mary Portas. Broom founded his company eight years ago and has since become one the UK’s most talented interior and product designers. He has designed over 35 bars and restaurant interiors across the UK, winning 15 awards. In 2007, Broom launched his first furniture collection ‘Neo Neon’ to critical acclaim and has launched a new collection each year since, selling to London, Paris, New York, Hong Kong and the Middle East. Broom’s latest collection will launch later this year at the London Design Festival in September.
