Topshop has announced the debut collaboration with New York-based jewellery designer Pamela Love, launching in May. Inspired by images of 1970s’ ‘Gypsy Rockers’, Pamela Love for Topshop sees delicate designs in strong metals, intricate carvings and easily-worn styles. The range includes the Dreamcatcher, Hearts & Arrows (pictured here), Frozen Links and Chain & Stud collections. The Dreamcatcher designs take inspiration from Love’s interest in magic and folk jewellery. The traditional medicine wheel charm, in the form of a matching necklace, earring and bracelet, has been re-imagined in chunky silver, decorated with resin and feathers.The Hearts and Arrows designs include antique-finish silver designs including a heavy baroque-looking pendant, earring, cuff and ring. Frozen Links, with a single cuff, multi-cuff, link chain and earring, is made of interlocking silver chains, and incorporates black and turquoise stones. The Chain & Stud includes a necklace, bracelet and ring with Aztec influence.
Pamela Love founded her label in 2007 after having started her own company from the basement of her flat. She has since collaborated with various designers on runway collections, debuted her own collection in New York Fashion week SS10 and has been nominated for the 2010 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund. The new collection will be available in-store from 19 May.
