Ethical Fashion Forum announces
Innovation Award Winners
The Innovation Awards, the initiative launched by the Ethical Fashion Forum aimed at supporting emerging designers and businesses in the ethical fashion arena, announced the winners during an exclusive party at The Hospital Club in London recently. The Awards includes three categories: Pure, Estethica and Fairtrade Foundation. The winners of Pure were Olga Olsson, who works with women and young artisans in Rio de Janeiro to create luxury swimwear and Feng Ho, who creates versatile garments for both day and night. The winners of Estethica were Ahilya, who creates hand creations by ancient methods in Kashmir and Lu Flux, who focuses on techniques and simple shapes to create wearable clothing. To mark the 5th anniversary of Fairtrade certified cotton in the UK, the Fairtrade Foundation partnered with the Ethical Fashion Forum on their Innovation competition www.fairtrade.org.uk. For the first time, the competition ran a Fairtrade cotton category. The winner, Ada Zanditon (pictured above), will work closely with the Fairtrade Foundation on her collection. Winners were judged at Crystallized Lounge. The panel included high profile fashion professionals including: Dolly Jones, editor of Vogue.com and Laura Bailey, Model and Fairtrade Foundation Ambassador, who had the hard task of narrowing down the winners.
