ASOS to open first European Facebook Store

Independent online fashion and beauty retailer will unveil the first European fully integrated Facebook Store this month. The new integrated Facebook application, powered by Usablenet’s platform, combines shopping and social media and extends full e-commerce functionality to the ASOS Facebook community. Customers can safely and securely shop the entire ASOS product range, which expands by approximately 1,300 new product lines each week, through the Facebook Store, using their existing ASOS login, and take advantage of all account facilities such as order tracking. With eleven million unique visits per month and a following of close to 400,000 on Facebook, ASOS will offer all customers the opportunity to buy, save, share and comment on items without needing to leave the social networking site. Developed by the ASOS User Experience team in partnership with leading mobile technology company Usablenet, the ASOS Facebook Store benefits include:
  • Transactions: A full e-commerce experience within the ASOS Facebook page, including add-to-basket, ability to edit cart contents and checkout with same options offered via ASOS website
  • Search: By accessing the ‘Shop’ tab on the ASOS Facebook page, customers can search across all ASOS product pages
  • Like and Share: Ability to ‘Like’ and share items and purchases with their friends within the community
  • Review: Space to chat with peers pre-purchase to seek others’ opinions and create ‘changing-room buzz’
  • Social Discovery: Visibility of items listed in friends’ news feeds and click through to ASOS product pages, all within Facebook
